Well…. today I have a pretty funny treat for you all. I started blogging almost 2 years ago (which is crazy when I think about it). I was really unhappy with the job that I was in and was starting to questions whether or not I was still interested in design. At the time there were several design blogs that I read when I needed a “design pick-me-up” and that got me thinking that it might be worth a shot at writing my own blog. even if no one ever read it, maybe it would give me the encouragement that I needed to stick with interior design and hold out on a job that didn’t make me want to throw in throw towel. And guess what? IT WORKED! not only did I discover that blogging is fun and a great way to connect with other people in the design world that I may have never had a chance to meet…. I also stuck with interior design and landed my dream job working for Rachel Halvorson Design and I could not be happier doing what I am doing.
Since starting this little SBD blog I have grown a LOT. Not only in my blogging skills but also as an interior designer. Thats the point right? To do what you love and get better at it over time?
Anyway…. thinking about how far I have come and how much fun I have had with this blog got me thinking it might be fun to share with you all my very first blog post. ever. haha I hope you enjoy it….
My Style, Your Style… We All Have One
What does it mean when you have writers block on your very first post of your brand new blog?… for me it means that there are so many ideas filling my head that I am not sure where to start. Which is a little ironic itself, because so many times thats the way we all start projects, isnt it? We have GREAT intentions to re-do our whole home, yard, office, life, ect…. but we cant figure out where to start so we put it off… and off… and off. Well no more procrastinating for me, let the creating begin!
Everyone has a style. Everyone. Even if you think you are one of those people who doesnt really have any style….well…thats your style. We all have one, they change over time, sometimes overnight, but our style is always uniquely ours. From what we wear to what we do and of course how we design all follow our unique personality which is our style. Here is a look at mine… people say opposites attract right?
Vintage and modern.
Rustic and clean
Bold and calm
Add a little light blue and white,
…and a little do-it-yourself!
That’s a little of what i like. What’s your style?
