Well, football season is fast approaching (I can not believe how fast this Summer has gone by) which means it will be time to bring out your favorite tailgating treats in no time.

And if you are a true southern lady, you probably have some sort of serving tray to display those tasty baby-pigs-in-a-blanket on. Am I right? But what should you do with your fabulous tray on the regular days of the week, you know Sunday through Friday, leading up to the big game? Here are a few fun ideas:

Use it as a coffee table caddy for the remote controls

Put it in the kitchen to keep all of your utensils organized

Organize your home bar. I love how this gold tray looks with the fancy bottles, very pretty.

Trays are perfect for displaying books and magazines. I recently added a magazine tray to my coffee table too.

This is a great idea! Use a tray as a mail catcher…. I feel like I am always making little piles of mail or notes, it would be nice to have a designated spot for everything!

A large tray would be perfect for breakfast in bed… or even for getting some morning work done in bed!

Use a tray as a pretty place to keep you perfume or makeup. I actually have a spot similar to this in my home!

There are so many ways to use trays when you are not serving food with them. Check back in to SBD soon for a list of some of my favorite trays that are on the market right now.

Trays are tricky for me with two kids under 5, but I do have a dark brown wicker-esque one I use as my “dump spot” for mail, like you recommended. Everything I need to deal with during the week goes in there, then on Friday I take the tray down to the basement to the computer to balance my checkbook, pay the bills, write the thank-you cards, etc. It is so nice to know I have one place for all that stuff because otherwise “Mom brain” would make me forget! I am loving your blog; keep up the good work!
